That scares me every time I see it. It's just timeless and ever-intense because it's totally realistic, very intense in every way and there's that prolonged psychological torture he puts Casey through (and Drew is a brilliant actor. I was actually just before spotting this poll, thinking of the way she reacted to the ringing phone when she was about to call the police.)

But I think above all it's the tragicness of how her parents arrive home just in time to be able to save her, she's like a few tens of meters away behind their backs, tries to scream for them but can't...and then the mother, on the phone hears her being brutally murdered but she doesn't know it's that...until she walks out the door and finds her child gutted and hanging from a tree. It would've been extremely affective even without thaat sick artistic touch the killer added, but even more-so the way it is. And heck that mother's actor was a screamer. Better than Jamie Lee Curtis.

So far only the fourth Scream's killer reaches and in a way beats this killer's degree in their sickness.

Truly, in my opinion, there's no topping the Casey's death in scariness and all emotional effectiveness.

Kevin Williamson rules! (I wish they'd kept his version of the opening scene for Scream 3. Moreso I wish he'd written the entire script,)

With Casey hanging from a tree covered in blood and other gory things, it was quite gross. And I remember when I first saw it, which I was like 11 or 12 Casey's death really freaked me out. It still kind of freaks me out. I hated how she was killed.

the most scary death out of all from Scream. I mean entire first movie was epic, Billy and Stu as killers were the best. then I really liked Scream 2 but 3 & 4 not so much..

This scared me out of my mind as a little kid, and it still does.
