He has just divorced Carol when Rachel ran away from her wedding and met them all in the Central Perk. He divorced Emily because he said Rachel's name instead of her's in front of the altar. 	Flickerflame picked No. He's just really bad at marriages..: Kind of yes and no.... his second failed marriage with Emily obviously ended because of him saying Rachel's name (subconsciously influenced by his love for Rachel), and drunkenly marrying Rachel was influenced in part by their remaining love for each other. But he and Carol failed because she was gay - it had nothing to do with Rachel, in story. Obviously in terms of writing they needed Ross to be single for Ross/Rachel to work. posted over a year ago.
