Renesmee's POV:
A couple weeks had gone by and Jacob and I still hadn’t picked out names for our babies so I decided to bring it up one night when we were having dinner.
"Have you thought of any names?" I asked. H looked dumbfounded at me before answering.
"No, have you?"
"Yes. I was thinking that you could name one of the girls and I could name the other?" It was more of a question then a statement.
"Sounds good to me." He replied with a smile. "What names did you think of?" he added before taking a bite of the dinner on his plate.
"One name. Sara." I suggested nervously. Jacob turned to me with a heart felt stare.
"Sara?" He said in a whisper.
"Ya, after your mom." I replied. His face lit up with the biggest smile I have seen on his face in a while. His large black eyes showing he was truly happy.
"It’s perfect." Jake chimed. I smiled as I felt the worried ness melt away.
"Hmm, looks like I have to pick a name..." He wondered. I nodded and began to eat.
"I've got it," Jacob announced after about five minutes of silence. "Laura."
"Laura...a special name?" I asked. Jacob seemed to have to think about that before answering.
"Nope, just a name I like."
"I love it." I added.
Jacob's POV
More weeks had gone by and, as much as I'd love to deny it, Renesmee was becoming sick...like Bella had been. We hadn’t been back at our house in over a week now as Carlisle insisted Nessie stay under his watch and of course I wasn’t going to leave her either.
Though the babies weren’t as violent and rough as Renesmee had been with Bella, just a few kicks were leaving bruises on Nessie's now enlarged stomach. Her bones weren’t brittle but she was weak. She couldn’t eat or drink anything without getting sick to the stomach. They tried giving her blood as Bella had drunk it while she was pregnant with Nessie, but Ness couldn’t keep that down either. Finally Carlisle said he would just have to keep and I.V. on her and feed liquids through her body to get her the nutrition she and the babies needed.
By this point I'd had it. I wanted my daughters and I wanted my wife to be healthy and alive. I wanted out of the vampire ridden house and back to our house on the cliff, and for some weird reason I wanted to go back to my duty of protecting the reservation; dealing with Sam and my pack seemed a lot less stressful right now.
Carlisle's prediction was that Nessie wasn’t going to be carrying the babies for much longer as they are getting to big to be inside the womb. Carlisle didn’t seem to be too worried about Renesmee but I sure was. I almost lost Bella like this I didn’t want to lose Nessie.
I kept trying to convince myself that if we saved Bella that we could save Nessie if it got as bad but I couldn’t get myself to agree with it. I was too paranoid.
"Jacob, can I talk to you?" Edward asked, pulling me from my thoughts.
"Uh, ya." I said shaking my head clear. I got up from the couch in the front room and followed him out the back doors.
"I'm just as afraid as you are." He said not looking at me.
"I doubt it." Uncontrollably, that slipped out of my mouth.
Crap. I thought instantly after that.
"What? That is my daughter." Edward seethed through clenched teeth.
"I know," I sighed. "I’m sorry. But she is my wife and those are my daughters. I think I’m just a bit more afraid." I defended.
Edward nodded his head, and after a deep breath said, "I understand but you can’t let this fear get to you when you have Nessie to be there for. Please, trust me I learned that from the experience with Bella."
I nodded my head, "Nessie has and always will be my top priority, and you know that."
"Yes, I do Jacob." Edward agreed. "I thank you for that."
I nodded my head respectfully. He was just about to go inside before I said, "Do you think it’s as bad?"
"I don’t know. Carlisle doesn’t think so but it’s definitely not going to be a normal delivery." He answered then went inside when I didn’t reply.
I sighed heavily, plopping down in the grass as I hung my head in my hands. The fresh air will help me think straight, or at least I hoped.
