Could I chose any other... NO I CAN NOT:-),even do Invids upgrade them self's the most from their original form,still my heart goes with Robotech DF.

Interesting thing about the Invid evolutions is that by the end of the New Generation Saga, the REF could still count on the standard Alpha & Beta fighters to destroy even the most highly evolved Invid mecha. The only significant additions to the REF arsenal was the Shadow Alpha/Beta Fighters (deployed, in what looked like only small numbers) & the Neutron-S Missiles.

The same could be said of the Southern Cross, having added only the VFH-10 AGAC's and an upgraded model of the VHT-1 Spartas with an enclosed cockpit-canopy, to their forces.

The RDF on the other hand, modified their surviving VF-1's for space combat & modified the SDF-1 to transform in order to fire its main weapons.

They built new model Destroids (MBR-07 Mk II Spartan & SDR-04-Mk XII Phalanx) & unfortunately experimented with failed Veritech-Battloid upgrades (Armoured Veritech Valkyrie). They improved the performance of their Valkyries (Super Valkyrie & Strike Valkyrie add-ons) & eventually they added a new model to the VF-1 series (VF-1R to replace VF-1A's).

During combat with Breetai's fleet they added the Pin-Point Barrier System to better protect the SDF-1. By the time the SDF-1 would face the entire Zentraedi Fleet, they were able to utilize a complete Barrier System, while the RDF on Earth created the Grand Cannon, which wiped out a good chunk of the Zentraedi fleet.

Bottom line: The RDF barely survived the First Robotech War because of their ingenuity, adaptability, courage & determination... which they used to wring out every ounce of usefulness from their robotechnology. I can honestly say, "NO ONE used Protoculture better than the RDF."
