Calling all Fan-pop-ers From 2010-15!

What's up? I'm amazed to see that this club has 40M fans, like who would have thought. But I'm also disappointed to see so many questions with help wanted signs. In many clubs such as the anime club.
I do understand that the internet isn't the way it use to be. Chat rooms like Imvu, Meez, Club penguin, aren't a thing anymore. Do kids even pay games on the internet?
Are social sites like, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok. All there is now?
Who remembers when this site use to be full of fans? Who remembers how fun that use to be? Does anyone one miss it?
I remember coming from school and being excited to see if any of my friends were on. They usually were of course. And we'd roleplay. I loved when someone would post on my wall and people would do it A Lot. I also really loved posting my pictures because I always had such amazing pictures to post.
I don't anymore, my computer is now full of college work and personal pictures. Like now instead of me having a my favorite anime on as my screensaver, I have my a picture of my and my partner on there. Am I boring now? lol
Honestly if there was a site like Fanpop that was active maybe I'd get into my fandoms again. I still watch anime.

I wouldn't say I was as well known as the top contributors in this club, BUT I was very much known. Wanna play a game? Guess my old username. My user name was the name of a character who is from the most popular anime of all time. I was the brother of a popular character.
Does anyone still get on here, because it doesn't look like it. But maybe one day, some one will come across this post.

Even with the changing in culture I do still think this site could have been filled with fans. It just needed a little more effort maybe? I don't know.
Anyway, I don't plan on getting back on,but with the way things have happened in the past few months I found myself-
with a Hello.

I know it was quite active during past years. It's sad how many people left and honestly I don't blame them cause there's lack of interaction here unlike other websites.

You have summoned a fanpopper from 2008. Wouldn't be able to guess your old username, but I'm pretty sure that I would've seen you around the clubs. I also miss the activity old Fanpop had. When it hadn't upgraded to the constant modern homepage yet.

It's not 40 million fans, it's 40 million VIEWS. Just Fanpop's way to do some humble brag xD
I was too young to experience the old days of internet but they do sound good. Now it's too saturated by corporate owned SNS. You can still find old forums like those but I doubt they will have much activity going on like Fanpop. Did your username by any chance had 'Itachi' in it?

I first arrive on fanpop after you, 2011 I was 16 ,so that's like after you became a fanpopper, and honestly it's pretty sad, fanpop use to be active and fun where you can meet new people and submit amazing things now it's boring and feels old.

I wonder why did the creators not put anymore effort into it.

Feb 2011 user her. TBH there's still a ton of things you can do on the internet. The popular things are just different now. And yes to answer your question. There's still a ton of games to be played on the internet.

Also fanpop was NEVER full of fans. It was just more busy than it is now but it was always a small community. I don't miss it that much because I have more shit to keep me busy than to honestly waste my time hopefully for a site to get its shit together. I used to be one of the ones trying to get more activity for this site but at the end of the day it was pointless and I found my attention drifting elsewhere.

Also about your wallpapers and all that. Personally......I wouldn't just keep a picture of my partner as my wallpaper and not cycle through that and fandom pictures but we're different people. You do you.

I sometimes still get on this site but I am more active on discord. I feel like I have to censor myself way more on this site and such it was one of the factors that pushed me away.

I feel like I have an idea who you are but........I also terrible at these guessing games so I'll keep your username a mystery but based on your clues. There's a pool I can look at if I wanted go further in the game.

I doubt the culture change would have done a damn thing. TBH fanpop was fucked for a while. (IMHO) so I doubt much could be changed.

You're so pessimistic. Have you always been that way? No I actually think it was pretty full back then. And with wallpapers, I just find the person I'm with to be much more enjoyable to look at. Someone was very close to guessing my username, I'm afraid if I say more I'll give it away. xXXx

There's a difference between pessimistic and realistic. In contrast there's a difference between optimistic and naivety. I don't view myself as pessimistic. That being said this site was never really anything that special

Fair is fair on both sides. I did enjoy this site and for a time I liked this site. However my feelings on it have changed and I'll be honest and not badmouth it or talk it up. Just because someone isn't optimistic that doesn't mean they are pessimistic.

Hello there. I joined in 2012. We didn't happened to meet before so nice to meet you. Nice seeing old faces paying a visit either way.

Yeah, the situation is pretty much as you're seeing with the exception of the Club's number of Members. The Viewer count is displayed instead XD Things are certainly not what they used to be for a while now. Not much traffic, few Members actually contributing and the majority having left or remaining lurkers. Most Clubs are dead or barely get any updates and various glitches keep being a thing. Not to mention that the Admins appear to not care at all and they are simply letting Fanpop rot. Some small updates here and there with the cherry on top being the introduction of ''Modern Fanpop'' that is repulsive and only pushes people further away. You could say that they have pretty much signed this Site's death warrant with that honestly. All that remains is to make the aforementioned feature permanent and that's it. A shame really since coming here always used to be a nice pastime and made a bunch of memories. The potential is still there indeed but given that there is not really any effort to improve the situation, nothing we can really do about it. All things come to an end eventually, I supppose. Sticking around till that happens and mostly for the sake of Friends of mine that I cannot contact any other way. A Discord Server has also been created for that purpose !!!!
