If you could go back in time and help your best friend avoid making the worst decision of their life, would you?

If you would, would you still do it if it came at the cost of your friendship? If instead of being your best friend, you never met? Or instead that person now hated you in the new future reality?

Would you do it?

Well I really don't have a best friend. I don't have any friends. But if I did, I would. But only if it's for the very best. Even if I had to die to do it, I would

I would probably not do it. Maybe, because I can't imagine anything that my best friend has done that would be worth the cost of our friendship. And also, because everything she has done has led her to this point in her life where everything is pretty much enjoyable. Like, I don't think she would want it any other way. BUT... if there had been something horrific and it would have made life really awful - if I could help her avoid that, I'd definitely do it. (also if I'm sure that it only impacts our friendship and otherwise life is good. Not like - there still might something else horrible happen in the future only now you aren't friends anymore)

Normally I'd say no in a heart beat to these kinds of things because bad decisions and what not can help make a better person and what not. This time I had to think it over. I'm still going to have to say no because I think that said worst decision is going to help this person in the long run. I won't give any details because it's not my business to share. But this was really difficult to answer because my friend struggled terribly for a long time. But at the same time it was kind of a thing that they needed to go through.
