I used to have those. They're buried over in my old bedroom on the ranch somewhere. Probably next to spent .22 shells, magic treehouse books, and hotwheels cars
Modern pop music has become more homogeneous overall, that's true. Many pop songs include many nearly identical instruments rhythms, and lyrics and the pop music industry is rather cynical and unwilling to take risks on innovative pop songs.
But notice I'm specifically saying "pop" music. The more and more you stray away from pop music the more original and experimental music becomes. It's becomes an entirely different market.
Not all modern music sucks- You just have to look in places other than the top 40 pop songs.

I have to agree with this. I still like new pop every now and again but I miss 90's pop. The other genres are still kicking ass!
It doesn't you just haven't found the right genre to listen to. There are some shitty songs out there but to blanket all new musicals shit is pretty ridiculous imo. There are some extremely talented new artists out there. And there are bands that have been around since the 80's and 90's that still drop bitchin new singles.
They just don't make great music like they did years ago.
I don't like today's at all ether I listen to 60s through the 90s.
I would listen to the 40s and 50s before the crappy music they have now.
