Since there are some music lovers here, how important is music to you and why?

Really I was just listening to some OSTs and really, as much as music is important for me getting through the days and coping with stress and everything, music is more of a passion and hobby beyond that at this point.

As many know, I play the trumpet and have been for the past like.... eight years? Maybe more, its too warm here to count, but like.... I dont really know anything other than maybe RPing that I feel better and more relaxed doing.

Like I just love my trumpet so much and Id love to play the other brass instruments, most notably the flugelhorn (Ive played it and I like it just as much as the trumpet) and the mellophone / french horn. I would think of other instruments, but Im simply not that good at rhythm for percussion nor am I coordinated enough to manage so many other keys. Plus i adore brass instruments

Then theres the whole part of analyzing music in the sheer composure that is wonderful and just keying out specific parts and ahh.... its just so nice

And dont get me started on DCI or marching band cos i could write paragraphs on that.

Then theres the whole coping mechanism and functionability that comes with just listening to any music so...

I don't have a profound reason for it XD

I listen to most of my music in the car and I guess it kinda puts me in a calm state of mind. As well as most conversations not being able to be struck up with me if there's "Tell her about it" by Billy Joel blasting out of the speakers.

I don't have the mental fortitude to teach myself how to play anything tho. Bought an Ocarina which is...well I don't know where it is.

Music is everything. It can fit in every aspect of our lives and it's a way of expression as well as a source of inspiration. Music is one of my greatest delights in this World and I've always had the desire to contribute in it to be honest. I already own a Classical Guitar and currently learning how to play. After that, I would like to move on to the Electric one. I was dreaming of playing that instrument since I was pretty little. I'm also interested in a few others. Pretty much, Music can fill you with emotion, whether it can be considered positive or negative, it is still exhilarating XD !!!!

I use music to cope with issues like depression. I listen to stuff like Skrillex and Blasterjaxx to name a few.

As a few has said already. I use music as a coping mechanism among my many other coping mechanisms. Honestly I don't want to be that guy but quite often I prefer music than talking to others. Less irritation that way. I also listen to music casually. For the longest I wanted to learn to play the piano and cover some of my favorite songs from well anything really. But procrastination's a sick and cruel mistress. I need to call off my relationship with her and use the stereotypical "it's not you it's me excuse"

Anything that sounds good is the type of music I'll listen to. Instrumentals being one of my favorites though.

Music is everything. It's every fiber of my being honestly.

Music is overrated. No other art form gets half the attention music does
