What is the worst book you've ever read (or tried to read)?

Just curious.

So there was this hedgehog who was baking a cake, and all his animal friends were boasting about how they could make the cake better than he could (and they were putting stuff like eggshells into the cake). They left, and the hedgehog threw away the ruined cake batter and baked a new cake... WHICH HE THEN let his animal friends eat, thinking it was THEIR CAKE.

And the animal friends were just gorging on that hedgehog's cake boasting about their amazing cooking skills that they didn't have.

What kind of a children's book is that?

(Sorry, can't remember the title :/)

WITCH SEASON
Wicked Lovely
Marked

Those are the ones off of the top of my head. Witch Season is literally the worst though. The writing was very poor it was very boring--legit 400 pages of filler and the characters weren't very memorable.

I can't remember the name, it was a Portuguese book (My native language). The title was something with mother and I stopped reading the book in the middle, because I got bored of it and I didn't really understand, what it was about it.

I wouldn't say they're the "worst books" in that I hate them. These are just the books that I tried to read and couldn't get through enough of it to finish.

I don't really *get* Ender's Game, either. The writing is average at best, I didn't care about any of the characters, and the pacing was... let's be nice and call it bad. The movie wasn't good, either (then again, that might just be because I didn't like the book).

I never understood what was happening in the book. I don't know if it's because I had to read it for a class and we took turns reading some parts of it out loud, but the whole thing was hard to picture. When I didn't have that picture of how things were in my head, it was harder to grasp the plot, especially later in the book. To this day, I don't think I could tell you what happened.

I saw the 50 Shades of Grey movie, and I think I need therapy after that... experience. I'll stay away from the books (how is this even a series?).

Catcher in the Rye.

The main character in the book was really annoying and the story wasn't interesting at all. I don't understand how that book is a classic.

Shiver by Maggie Steifvater
It was all so convenient - a young girl is able to hide a werewolf in her house because her parents never seem to be home - like ever. It just really annoyed me - the whole book just made me constantly be like 'As if!'

The Twilight books, all of them. I liked them when I was younger but now I think why the hell did I even like these books? They were awful, very mainstream and some of the characters were boring and very irritating, like Jacob, he annoyed me so much. And the whole love triangle thing between Bella, Edward and Jacob was so stupid, why couldn't she just choose one guy and that be it, instead she calls them both her soulmates and marries Edward. Bella really got on my nerves. I think all of them got on my nerves. And people have the nerve to compare Twilight to Harry Potter, that J K Rowling copied Stephanie Meyer, that made me really mad. Harry Potter is one of the best book series out there and 10 times better than Twilight. Also, it came before Twilight. But that's just my opinion
