What is a famous saying or phrase that has always confused you?

for me it'd probably be "I'll slap you into next week."

I mean I understand it I just think it's stupid. If you slap someone INTO next week then that obviously means you'd have knocked him unconscious to the point where he won't wake up till the next week. On the other hand if you threaten to slap someone TILL next week, they would be far more compliant I'm sure.
