What is the meaning of prudence and discretion?Please explain me in simple words

They are almost synonyms but if you look them up and be more meticulous you can make out they have difference..

Prudence

- wisdom; the good judgement in practical matters;
- In prudence, what you choose is the wisest and most practical decision.

Discretion

- tact; the good judgment to avoid upsetting others.
- the freedom to choose. In discretion, what you choose may be the wise decision or not.
