How can I become popular?

Because I wander how that happens because I recently switched from a catholic school to a public school.

Half the people here are just stereotyping popular kids as sluts with too much makeup who aren't really friends with each other. So many things wrong with that. That's stereotyping. A lot of popular kids are strong friends with each other even if there is some bickering and bitching. Yeah there's a lot of sex and drugs but their choices don't make them bad people. Slut shaming? How about no. "Popular" kids are not all as superficial as people will have you believe. So here's the thing - you should be yourself but if that means you want to be popular, ok, go for it. Just make friends with them like you'd make friends with anyone else.

Be yourself.

Sweetie, being popular isn't all glitz and glam.

I'd highly suggest, you just be yourself, and people will want to be your friend, and if you become popular, great! if you don't that's great too!

XD I guess so. But whatever is my opinion on it, giving out those kinds of freebies would still cost a lot.

Being popular isn't all that important, actually I've never been all that popular.. I've had one best friend.. who I still hang out with and a few other friends. I think staying true to who you are and achieving what you believe in is the most important thing to do.. and you shouldn't worry so much about having loads of other people around. That's my advice.

Don't be. Seriously, there is no point whatsoever in popularity. And besides, the popular kids I know? Yeah, they are the ones drinking themselves into an early grave and bragging about how much of a whore they all are.

I agree with XXKiethHarkinXX BE YOURSELF!!! I was never popular in school and you don't have to be! As long as you have those loyal friends you're the richest kid in school. You think the popular girls have their friends around them 10 years later? Believe me they don't. How do i know? Dude, i left school 9 years ago, and the popular girls, please, they have got nothing! Be yourself, be honest, be understanding, fight to defend yourself when you have to. You'll be the best out of them, believe me. I've been there. I have lived that life, i'm best out of them!

Being popular isn't thay great. The popular kids at my school always wear expensive clothing items and wau to much make up. They talk about how they bang people a lot and some even do drugs... so i suggest its better to be who you are instead of breaking your neck trying to impress them

Dude, I wouldn't be worked up over it. Popularity is what's making people think they are better than others (well one of a lot of things)

Plus, you need to focus on just being you--no one else. I'm OK with just being me. I never had any desire to "fit in" and "be like everyone else".

I believe in being YOU--a unique individual.

From close observation of the 'popular' kind while being non-existent, throughout all the schools I have been my findings show that the most common characteristics of those people are:
Being shallow, low intelligence, good or not terrible looks (or girls can be terrible but they have boobs or are sluts), lack of humour (although they and their kind think they are oh-so-witty),high confidence (I give them that), sociable nature, enough money to buy useless-but-fashionable crap, no connection whatsoever to books and literature, bad music taste.

Still someone who aims at being popular is very likely to have these attributes and eventually succeed (or will realise this crap doesn't matter, so :why be miserable?)
