Can someone please explain the bottle cap thing to me?

What do all those caps you earn mean and how do you earn them? I haven't used Fanpop for a long time and I'm confused.

Okay serious answer time, you get a cap when you were on fanpop on a holiday, special event, i.e. chirstmas, you're birthday. Or when you've done something special on fanpop, such as log in everyday for 100 days,
