Basically anything along the lines of hurting yourself. It can be cutting, burning, or hurting your body intentionally.

What if it doesn't actually hurt, though? Like a part of your body gets a little knicked up but it doesn't cause any discomfort to you

I don't call what I do hurting myself because I don't feel anything. My friend however saw me doing it and she got really mad at me and told me that I needed help. She wouldn't explain further so I think she meant that she thinks what I'm doing is self-harm.

Anything physically self-destructive, whether it actually hurts you or not.

(As an aside, I still strongly believe that self-harm it of itself isn't necessarily all that bad though, and what makes it actually harmful is the mentality that may accompany the self-harm. So to me you seem okay.)

Cutting, hitting, scratching, burning...any time of pain that you inflict on yourself. Try and stay away from it. It's a horrible habit and can really wrap around your brain. Most people who start regret their decisions ten fold. If you need any help or someone to talk to; talk to your parents, friends, teachers, guidance counselors, and hey--my inbox is always open ♥

It can be anything, like cutting, burning, hitting anything that inflicts pain. Even if you don't feel pain while doing it, it's still considered self-harm. If you continue with this kind of self-harm, I recommend getting professional help.
