Did you read The Host?

Is it a good book? I didn't want to ask this on The Host club, since they would all be very bias and say it's the best book ever.

Yet again, is it any good? I don't want to waste my time going to the library or buy the book if it isn't good.

If it interests you, read it.

Asking if a book is good or not isn't very productive. People have different interests and tastes when reading.

I read the book a few years ago and I enjoyed it. Meyer's writing had improved a bit since Twilight. But it's not for everyone. I can't tell you much because I don't want to spoil anything, but just to inform you, if you do decide to read it; The story starts out slow. Don't give up on it. It does get better.

I don't want to read opinions, I want to read fact. The plot, how "sappy" it is, etc. I just want to see if it includes my interest.

So you want to know all about the book before you even read it? All you need to know is the plot (which you can find easily on the internet without much research). If it interests you, read it. And what do you mean by 'fact'? Describing anything within the contents of the novel as 'sappy' is pure opinion. Read the book yourself. Don't go looking for everything other people say about it. Once you read it you can determine what you think about the novel.

Yes, I've read it. Finished this morning actually, and I enjoyed it mostly, which surprised me somewhat.

I think you should read it. Not because of my views on the book itself, but because you should never turn down the chance to read.

Oh no, trust me. I turn down many books, especially sappy ones. It's because when I begin a book, I can't stop reading it. It's a part of my code. Like Twilight, I read it, and was practially sobbing from how terrible it was. The writing style was terrible, Belle Swan is terribly shallow and an unrelatable character. I don't want that...

Right, well there is romance. I can't really describe it to you without ruining the plot, but I liked the situation the characters were in when they tried to figure everything out.

But the romance can be pretty sappy. There are other sub plots too though - the whole book isn't about romance.

I also think that The Host was a lot better than twilight. The main female leads aren't as shallow and whiny as Bella was. She doesn't mention how good looking the men are that much - generally it's only in the initial description of the character, and they're not all drop dead gorgeous. There are also no sparkles, which should be a relief. The only bit I don't like is the last chapter; apart from that, I found the book to be not too shabby.

Yes! Its a good book. Its worth you reading it. It is quite long though, about 58 or so chapters and 800 something pages. But,it is really touching and good. The plot is good too. It might be a bit confusing in the beginning though.

No, but my friend has read it about 35 times. (I am not joking she has practically memorized that book). She says it's kind of slow at first but the plot line overall is amazing.

I own the book but haven't read it yet. Although judging by the movie, I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea.

i have read it, its a very fascinating book, but i don't know what types of books you enjoy,

so if you want to try it, just read a little, and if you don't like it, then try another.
