There isn't a fourth paragraph, but here's the third sentence:

"Shaking his grizzled old head, Stonepaw turned and stumped back into his beloved mountain."

Lord Brocktree, a Redwall novel by Brian Jacques.

Great book, man. Great book. I've read the entire Redwall series (except for the last one because I'm saving that one for a rainy day). Brian Jacques died on February 5, 2011 unfortunately. )= He's still my favorite author.
