were they hatched or born ?

when donkey mentioned that dragon was moody and stuff he didn't get that his wife pregaunt so after the credit scene dragon shows up with half donkey , half dragon babies or better known as "donkeys" but the real question is were the dronkeys born from their mother or just hatched from her egg ?
