Nah, I figured it out. It's simple. If it takes three minutes for THREE cats to kill THREE mice, then it takes three minutes for the cats to kill the equal amount of mice as there are cats. The specific quantity of cats and mice has nothing to do with solving the riddle. It's all about noticing the amount of cats and mice is equal.

You don't actually have to do any math. You only have to notice the amount of mice is the same as the amount of cats..
