Please, someone tell me I am not the only one that thinks PIXAR is overrated

NOTICE- I didn't say I hated the movies. I just find it very annoying that critics and people always praise the movies, and if someone disagrees they get pounced on. " Well you don't know anything about Pixar if you think that!! " " How could you think that are you nuts?".

NO. Im not nuts. I grew up with Walt era classics, Renaissance era classics and the ones in-between Walts death and 89. I miss the age of 2D animation and to me that is true animation. Yes Pixar is creative, and have good movies but they are not untouchable. Dreamworks, Sony, Blue Sky and Illumination all have released great animated movies.

I do agree with most that Sony an Dreamworks aren't in the same league as Pixar when it comes to animated movies.

YourMovieSucks.org & I think Pixar is over-rated & unoriginal. & we aren't going to cut them a break because their sit is "aimed at kids."

In a sense. The people I've watched movies with comment on every little thing. Or they talk too the characters like they can hear them i.e. "SARAH, DON'T PICK JAKE, HE'S GOING TO CHEAT ON YOU." and if they've already seen the movie they tell me about, which completely ruins it for me because then there is no surprises or suspense

Ah yeah I hear ya. A friend of mine never shuts up when we watch a movie either... "Who is that?" "Why did he DO that?" "What the-... I don't get it." So I spend half the movie trying to explain it to him and then I could just turn it off since I basically told him the entire plot and ending. -_-

A movie is a movie is a movie. Some are good, some are bad. Just because it is Pixar doesn't mean that it's good or bad. It depends on the director, the voice actors, and the animators.

i agree, but people think PIXAR is perfect regardless. Just cause it has pixar they assume its the best. It gets annoying.

It does, but that's their opinion.

Some of their movies are good, some aren't (especially recently--seriously, Brave was one of their worst, imo). I can't say anything to agree with you otherwise because I grew up with this as well as Disney and Dreamworks, and I still love it as well as those others. But, hey, I totally get what you mean. :)

Well, I grew up with them. Im just saying its unfair for PIXAR to ALWAYS be called flawless be critics even. Its as if , just because it has PIXAR they give it good reviews. Which is not fair to other animated movies.

I grew up watching Disney classics more though cause, Pixar didnt come around till 95 when I was 6. Disney animation is KING to me.

That's how I feel about Tim Burton, talk about overrated. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve praise for movies he's done i just mean nothing in the past ten years.

That, I agree on. The Nightmare Before Christmas was great. The rest, not so much.

I like Burton as a Director. Many people find him eccentric, so I guess I dont see that. Christopher Nolan is overrated. Anytime a director is mentioned someone says " Christopher Nolan". Did you see Frankenweenie. That was just released and was very touching. And did deserve praise, not just cause of Burton, but it was a great movie.

Most people fro the age of 15 or older would agree with you. Most people under that age who may never even have seen The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty or Tarzan would tell you differently.

Although, I don't think Pixar is at all overrated. The Disney renaissance is over, so I feel they had to pass the baton. And they did it really well. Still, as good as Toy Story and Finding Nemo were, absolutely nothing beats the Walt Disney classics.

I agree with everything you said, except of course my initial question. I think its overrated alot, people can like it, but give reasons other than " Its PIXAR so its perfect" which is what I hear all over the internet all the time.

I didnt say people cant like it, but give a reason. " Because its PIXAR" is not a reason.

Yeah they aren't flawless, but every once in a while they turn out something great. I am not a massive movie goer, I just watch the big attractions, I never bother watching the more underground stuff. So yeah I guess I don't have that much of an opinion here.

I like Pixar, like, who doesn't like Brave and Toy Story? I'm a huge Disney fan. Take a look at Hercules, they have many hidden tensions and things unworthy of children. Movies will always have a message for only adults. Please, calm down...they always have a great message anyhow. I watch at least one Disney movie a day, seriously =w= I freaking love Disney and I can never get over it. Tangled was GREAT! anyways, the movies are ALWAYS available in 2D, just check the disc/movie theater for time. Dude, I know what I'm talking about...you seem to have a grudge about something. Merida from Brave, her HAIR took 2 whole years to animate. With that hard work and dedication, you are ACTUALLY hating on it? Absolutely low and disgusting. I can't deal with people like you >.>

Well, I have to admit. Pixar isn't perfect. No animation studio is. Just because a certain company made it doesn't judge how good it is. I grew up with Pixar, and I love most of the movies they make, not because they're Pixar movies, but because they have an interesting plot, characters, and good animation. And I'm not being biased, I also like Dreamworks and Sony.
