These are for all kinds of tests: vocab, math, science, history.

make yourself a study guide

get a good nights sleep

eat breakfast

make clever tricks to remember things like "in the year of 1492, columbus sailed the ocean blue" or something like that. if its to a familiar tune or is fun to say, it will be easier to remember.

always keep studying. study for a little more every night before the test.

it never hurts to do extra work from the textbook.

sometimes teachers will hold an afterschool study session or practice quiz. do not hesitate to do so.

make flashcards. flashcards are some of your best school friends.

you cant get any help once you start the test, so if you ever need anything from the teacher, ask.

FRESHMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN~! Hey, don't worry about high school. Aside being treated a bit differently than the upper classmen, there really is nothing to worry about being a freshman. Freshman year actually is one of the easiest years, beaten only by senior year. Wait until junior year, ugh. So much pressure there. *going to be a junior*
