What helps you when you're having trouble falling asleep?

I know that I am not usually the one to ask things like this, but I have had trouble falling asleep for the last several weeks regardless of how tired I am and I could really use some help...

I've done all the tips and tricks that usually work, but nothing seems to be working.

I am dead tired right now but I just can't fall asleep and I could really use a creative suggestion or two here...

Im not sure if this will help for you but it helps for me(: im the flexible type, so I do all my stretches that I learned from gymnastics. That usually makes my body relaxed. & you can try listening to some music that is calm, I use to listen to ocean waves... I hope this helps(:

Or lay down and watch a movie that you like, and just close your eyes and relax. eventually you will fall asleep. I know it sucks when your dead tired. It happens all the time for me

Those stretches are a great idea, I've read it was a great way to release melatonin, which is great for sleep...

I had this problem allot as well.
I used to watch alot of paranomal stuff and I couldnt get to sleep. Even when I was fine, felt okay, I just could get some sleep.

Get some lavender and spray it all over your pillows, this helps people calm down.

Just read. Honestly, it works. Its simple but works well.

Usually when I can't fall asleep, it's because something is vexing my mind. When I have a lot on my mind, I can never fall asleep, no matter how hard I try.

Is there anything you need to come to terms with right now? If this has been happening over the last several weeks, perhaps there is something that is keeping you awake that you're not really taking notice of.

If you come to terms with what is vexing your mind, assuming you do have something troubling you, then maybe you should try thinking it through. Face whatever might be causing you some worry or frustration or sadness, or whatever it might be.

I do this all the time, and once I think my problems through and come up with a course of action, I'm able to rest easier.

I'm sorry if I'm totally off the mark, and my answer was of no use to you.

What I normally do is take my iPod and iHome into my room and play really calming music (Owl City works for me also) with the iHome's volume on low until I'm relaxed I normally fall asleep right after that and if that doesn't work I'll get up and pace the room.

I always read and listen to relaxing music. That puts me out like a light. Or, maybe, if you live in an area where there's lots of nature, you can open your window and listen to that. ^_^ I hope you get a good night's rest~!

1. hot milk with a spoon full of honey
2. chamomile tea
3. taking a bath with lavender oils and a chunk of amythest
4. crystal therapy - smoky quartz, amythest or tourmaline are the best, you can either tie one of the end of a string and hang it above your bed and watch it until you fall asleep or place it under your pillow.
5. Incense therapy. The best ones are lavender, chamomile, jasmine and benzoin, but if your sleep problems are due to stress these could help - nroli, rose, sandlewood, sweet marjoram, ylang ylang or green tea.
