Or also known as Fuckerman.
There is no doubt about it. Quinn and Puck have become one of the most loved Glee couples, and I personally, don’t understand why.
As an avid Puckleberry shipper, I do not get the hype that seemingly surrounds this couple. I have been a non-supporter of Quick from the very beginning, and my reasons are listed below:
* * *
~Chemistry: Not Seeing It~
In order to even like a couple in any sort of way, there must be a chemistry between the two actors (at least for me) who play the characters. Puck and Rachel’s chemistry (or more specifically, Mark and Lea) is spot on, and one of the main reasons I love them. Even Rachel and Finn (who I also support) chemistry does not feel at all forced or obliged-and the same goes for Will and Emma. These couples have chemistry on and off screen, and that what makes them all work as a couple.
I, however, cannot say the same for Quinn and Puck. Dianna Argon (Quinn) and Mark Sailing (Puck), are both splendid actors and play their characters well. However, their chemistry…well, it’s not there.
It’s the case I see with many actors who plays a character these days. The studio picks two actors to play a certain character, and those two particular people don’t have any chemistry. It feels forced, and that’s the thing with Quinn and Puck.
~Storyline: Predictable, Plain, and Boring~
Quinn Fabray, member of the Celibacy Club and cheerleader, unexpectedly falls pregnant with child. She tells her sweet but naïve boyfriend Finn Hudson that he is the father. Even though they never had sex. Quinn makes up a lie, about how the temperature of the hot tub (where they “made a baby”) made his sperm swim fast…and Finn buys this. But we know it’s a lie.
Who’s the father then? No other than Noah Puckerman, Finn’s best friend. Puck, who we before only saw a football who looked like he didn’t do serious relationships, turns out to have a soft side. He tells Quinn he will her support of the baby. However, his generous offer is thrown to the side, and Quinn instead calls him a “lima loser.” Ouch.
You can guess where they’re storyline goes on from here. Quinn is developing feelings for Puck, Puck just wants to be with her. They sneak around (not cheating), are “baking”, etc.
The whole storyline is so predictable that it hurts. It’s not like we haven’t seen this kind of plotline for a couple before, whether it be in a book, TV Show, Movie... Quick’s storyline, as time goes on, turns out to be not even at all interesting. I watch Glee, see them together, and think to myself: “I have seen this all before.” It is nothing new, or anything at all original.
~Lying, Manipulating, Cheating: All of it is just wrong, wrong, wrong~
I used to be a die-hard Quinn fan, and was one of the many people who sympathized with her situation and enjoyed watching her grow. And the truth is, I still enjoy watching her mature and become a better person.
But, as I am watching Glee over again, I can’t help but change my mind about her, and I can’t in no way comprehend how what she is doing is right. I looked past her tears and her situation at hand to realize what she is doing is spiteful. Yes, she is confused. Yes, she was drunk when she slept with Puck. Yes, she loves Finn. But does all of that make it right? No, it does not.
Lying to a male- a teenage male no less, who shouldn’t even be in the positing to raise a kid in high school- is wrong. However way you put.
Especially when the father is their best friend.
Then there is Puck. If I am correct, Puck was not drunk when he slept with Quinn. And as I watch the episodes, it seems that he doesn’t feel that all guilty. A matter of fact, he doesn’t seem to feel that guilty at all for what he did. If anything, he acts like this was all Finn’s fault. (Especially in “Sectionals). He doesn’t really seem to be that all of a good friend to Finn, and one of the reasons I prefer Puckleberry is because Puck is more tolerable for me when he is with Rachel, and I do think he actually liked her. Like “Preggers”, we saw a different, more kind side to him, and I liked it.
And then Puck and Quinn (especially in Wheels) are sneaking around. The baking scene, which looked they were going to kiss, the cupcakes, the babysitting, and just the whole secret in general…I cannot accept it. I just can’t. It’s all disloyalty, dishonesty, and betrayal. Those are three things I do not find positive in a couple. Or a character. Or anything.

NOTE: If you are a Quick fan who is reading this, then I do not mean to bring any offense to you. This is my own personal opinion on the Quinn and Puck.
