Hi guys, I have heard about this film for many years until my brother bought both the soundtrack and film back in 2007. So here is my review about the film after watching Nostalgic Critic did this film a few times before.
The Story
Okay, I was very familiar with the story of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table & Camelot. However this story is really underrated comparing to Disney films, it reminds of Disney 2012 film, Brave which also deals with motherhood and Celtic themes in it. I personally think that Brave really works for me, but despite that, this film also has the same moral values as Brave.
It also has a number of comic reliefs, especially the double headed dragons that really brightens my day while watching the film.
The Songs
When I first watched this film, I did not know that 'The Prayer' was from this film! It has been cover by many artists in the likes of Charlotte Church, Josh Groban, Andrea Bochelli and Celine Dion. Ironically, the latter 2 sang their own renditions in this film. Dion sang it in the film while Andrea sang it at the closing credits.
Another song that I love is 'Looking Through My Eyes' sang by LeAnn Rimes. I just love her rendition that I keep playing it when I go to sleep!
The Characters
Kayley was ripoff of Belle, especially her hairstyle, facial features and her 'I Want' theme song. So, it's no surprise at all for me! Garrett is a very sympathetic character, because he is actually a hermit who is blind and there something that I had wonder throughout the movie, since the sword (or something like that) was to heal everything, why didn't it heal his blindness?
Ruber eerily reminds of Jafar and Hans from Disney's Aladdin and Frozen respectively due to their ambitious tendencies, Ruber wanted to usurp the throne very much like Hans. Unfortunately, as you all know that Hans failed while Ruber nearly succeeded.
Looking Through My Eyes
So, here is my review on the film and tell me what do you think? Enjoy watching the film for those who haven't seen it yet!
