Its kinda half and half, i was half way through QOTD book when i watched the film.

I'm about to read the books.

I have read all of Anne Rice's vampire books but in my own opion the first 5 were the best. I was exited to see Queen of the Damned, and thought Stewert Touwnsend (did I spell that right?) did a fine job of depicting the darker side of Lestat. But as every one knows, Tom Cruise WAS Lestat. I guess I just had mixted emotions about it. Entertaining, yes. :)

I probably would have read the books before seeing the movie, as my mother has all of them, but I ended up buying her Queen of the Damned one year for her birthday, and we ended up watching it as a family. So as such I ended up seeing the movie before reading the books.
