how do you get a mystery gift?

when i went to mystery gift i did not get a gift it said no gifts found.

full story-go to any pokemart and to the questionare and put in "link together with all"and the sellsman will jump and say you know abot the mystery gift and then save and turn off your gameboy then put in your wireless abdapter and go to mystery gift and you should get a treate like a ticket to an island or something.:>
