Help with my soul sliver game.

I have been trying to do pal park in soul sliver game I looked online it said put your Ruby or sapphire in your ds light I did but it did not work did I miss something?

If it has to do with anything online, then forget it. Nintendo cut off the Wi-fi connection for DS, DSi, and Wii. If it doesn't then I honestly don't know, I never used it myself.
