Pokémon Question

Anybody else believe in the red-ash, blue-gar doppleganger?

I'll explain.

For those of you like myself who played the games and watched the show, we assumed trainer red was ash. Pokemon 2nd Gen games had you fight both blue and red. BUT.... I recently read the original Pokemon manga, not based off ash, but red ketchum and blue oak of pallet town.
remember ash waking up late and finding out the 3 starters had been taken early? Well in this manga, green stole squirtle, blue got charmander, and red received bulbasaur. Which, in Pokemon yellow version, "ash" gets pikachu and "Gary" gets eeve. Continuing on with the manga, red reaches viridian city. Remember ash reaching the Pokemon center, fighting team rocket, ans wrecking the center? Well in the manga, red travels to the center and there is a sign saying it was destroyed the night before by unknown vandals...

Any comments?

Actually,it isn't a coincidence Satoshi/Ash and Red are indeed anime/manga counterparts they were meant to be similar and have a number of different similarities like with Pikachu and their similar choice of clothes same with Shigeru/Gary and Blue they are just counterparts of each others just in different parts of the Pokemon series (anime and manga),well either way it was a good catch in noticing that!

Most likely coincidental, I doubt the mangaka even knew that much on the anime to begin with.

Also the manga > > > the anime

The manga, which I assume is Pokemon Adventures, is based off the video games. The video games were first. The anime came after.

So really, Ash and Gary are based off of Red and Blue. owo Unless I'm wrong.

And I agree to what MCHopnPop said. They're basically like counterparts.

And to add on to what I was saying, I don't think they're doppelgangers. I mean, Blue and Gary, they would might as well be brothers, and if so, we would've seen Blue in the anime. Along with Red. But like I said, Pokemon Adventures is based off the video game series, and we all know how the anime and the video games are quite different in a lot of ways.
