Pokémon Question

I know I would have been perfectaly fine if Dawn won any other way, but according to how she was losing points when Gabite and Flareon were attacking her, how come she didn't lose?

Because she should have continued to lose points if she was continuing to be successfully attacked by Ursula's pokemon, which happened. Which would have put her at a negative number of points. How does her not losing any more points make any sense, if technically she should have lost more than enough points, but she didn't... and what are the exact rules to pokemon contests anyways?
I repeat, what are the exact rules to pokemon contests anyways?

Dawn won because Ursula's Gabite and Flareon fainted from the previous attacks. If they didn't faint, Ursula would have won.

Before that happened, If you read all of what I said, and since I watched it, Urula's attacks were working, and Dawn was losing points. Then The attacks continued to be successful, but Dawn wasn't losing any points. I don't really get pokemon contests.

Therfore, the attacks you said were not previous ones, since I was talking about before Dawn even got much attacks in. I should find faults in others contests, like Hoenn ones... It was only take down on both of them, and spark on Flareon, and I mean they were still able to fight, and that after those ones, Dawn coudn't get anymore attacks in before it looked like she should have ran out of points. I know they want it to go a certain way, which can cause things to not make much sense...
