Pokemon connections

Okay, this is gonna sound (quiet possibly) retarded, but nonetheless; when I was little my best friend Smokey (a sheltie dog) passed away and that Christmas I got Pokemon Yellow for the GBC. When I got to Cinnabar Island and saw Growlithe, I fell in love, caught one, named it Smokey, and evolved it into Arcanine.
Okay...so I've got a connection with Arcanine.
The next Pokemon game was Sapphire for the GBA (SP) and I got the Kyogre. I dunno what about Kyogre made me love it besides the fact that I named it Ky (which is my name), I caught it on my birthday (wa-hoo) of which my birthstone is sapphire, and to me Kyogre is just so...majestic.
So that's two Pokemon with which I have weird special connections too. What's weirder, Kyogre isn't one of my favorites but I feel obligated to love it...
