Does anyone know how to defeat Red in SS

In HG, I used a Machamp, Slowking, Noctowl, Meganium, Mew, and Nidoking!
For Pikachu (Most likely the first sent out), a good ground-type move is best! (Just don't use a ground-type due to Iron Tail)
Charizard is fast, so you WILL WANT TO GUARD YOURSELF WITH A WATER TYPE!
Blastoise is the one I had the most problems with. It (Just like Misty's Starmie) can block grass-type with Blizzard. A Electric type is best there, the same with Lapras, but a Fighting type move also is good for the Transport Pokemon.
If it survived, your fighting type can destroy Snorlax! I suggest a Rock or Steel type if it didn't survive.
Venusaur, unlike most of Ash's Pokemon, has no guard against super-effective moves! So, a flying type is best. Fire is good (If you're using Moltres, Ho-oh, or Charizard), because it knows Earthquake.

in Heart Gold, I had Ho-oh, Mewtwo, Articuno, Snnorlax, Feraligatr and Lugia. For Pikachu, I used Mewtwo's Psychic attack and it knocked Pikachu out in one shot. For Blastoise, I uses Feraligatr's Superpower, but Blastoise knocked it out. So I got Ho-Oh to use Hyper Beam and I knocked out bLastoise. For Snorlax, I revived Feraligatr and used Superpower and gave it a critical hit, but it never went down. Snorlax used Body Slam and knocked out Feraligatr again. I sent out Ho-Oh and got it to use Hyper Beam. It hit, but it didn't get knocked out. the hail storm did though. For Lapras, I revived Feraligatr and Used it's Superpower. It was supereffecitive, but it didn't faint. Lapras kept using Blizzard on me, so I kept using Superpower. Eventually, I got to the point where I just sent out Ho-Oh to ues Hyper Beam. It was knocked out.
For Charizard, I used Feraligatr's Surf, and it only took a bit of its health even though it was supereffective. Charizard used Flare-Blitz. It took recoil damage and eventually, the hail storm caused it to faint. Finally Venusaur. All I had to do was to use Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire and I won the battle. But yours will be different because your main legendary is Lugia, not Ho-oh.
