The drill!!! Yes...quite.

I flung the bathroom door open and sighed with relief. I walked casually from the "Forbidden Area" which is what most Ares kids call it now. As far as I knew we didn't start CTF and I had only been gone like five minutes.
I had walked to the empty pavilion and sat down quietly looking around for everyone else. There were a few wandering satyrs and dryads and Mr. D was in his usual spot wearing his trademark snear. I didn't want to ask him were everyone was. So I waited silently until the conch horn blew. Grover sauntered up to me. His horns now a good three inches above his hair. "How come your not at capture the flag?" He asked puzzled while sitting down next to me. I was confused, "It hasn't started. No one else is here." I claimed. Before Grover could answer Chiron appeared with a gust of wind. He was beaming like crazy and his horse legs were spazzing out with glee.
Chiron continued to run past us and the two of us started after him as he talked with Mr. D. D waved his hand in boredom and I heard him say, "Eh just another hot shot." Chiron said something else with over exaggerated hand gestures. Mr. D looked as bored and aggravated still. Chiron shrugged and than galloped back towards the woods.
Me and Grover hurried to the woods. We passed some bruised and disoriented campers walked by giving me dirty looks. I did my best to look away.
Standing next to Chiron the full force of what happened hit me. I had missed Capture the Flag. But how? Many of the campers were dripping wet and shivering with a towel around them. If there teeth weren't chattering they were cursing and talking loudly about losing. My dropped open in shock. I missed it...and we lost. I was stopped short from asking Grover but Annabeth walked angrily and SMACK!!!
I grasped my left cheek in pain, "GAH!! Why?!" I asked while rubbing my face. She folded her arms, "You were gone for like, half an hour!!! Where were you???" she yelled while others stared and whispered to each other.
I became angry, "What are you talking about?! I was gone for like, five minutes!" A few campers shook their heads. Annabeth held her hand out in a stop position and she was calm. "It doesn't matter now." she said, "I trusted you but you didn't come through." She said gently. At that moment Michael sauntered by with the flag. Grover glared intensely at him. I was tempted to punch him as well.
Annabeth stalked away without saying anything else. I stood there seething in my thoughts and feeling. Campers walked by talking whispering softly But I was in complete silence. Grover had already left with Juniper and I had gone to the lakefront. Luckily, it was deserted, minus the Naiads who were still flirtatious towards me. I ignored them with difficulty with them waving and chanting eerily and squirting up at me as I sat bare foot on the pier swinging my feet through the water. There was an ever present thought in my mind, "Was I just dumped?" I asked out loud. The Naiads silently giggled.
*Later that day at the campfire*
(Annabeth)
I sat next the Athena Brethren which is what its known as now. My head being cradled in my hands. Right now the Apollo kids would be leading the sing-along, but no one was in the mood. The campfire gave off practically no light with it being completely black with small strands of blue and purple. Though I think it was from me. Confused and questioning. Percy was usually loyal and had a good sense of time. It definitely wasn't like him to miss CTF.
I took a glance towards Percy who was sitting next to Michael who was arm wrestling a very large Ares boy. Percy was staring up into the starry sky. I turned around to join the conversation of why Chiron won't shut up about him training Achilles. Sometime Chiron would bring out this dusty story if there was nothing else happening. He droned on about how Achilles was blah blah this and blah blah that. We all knew the story but he didn't ever tell us about Achilles fighting Phoba but I pushed this out of my mind.

I beamed smugly at this Ares kid who was trying to hide the fact that he was struggling. The shaking of his frizzy hair gave him away. Until WHAP! His hand was crushed into the wooden seat next to us. i lifted my hand and he sat there in a stoney silence. Then silently, he got up and walked away. The campfire darkened even more.
After another minute of Chiron ramble on. I got up and left for my cabin. Until i remembered I had to go to the restroom to meet someone.
I pushed open the dirty door. No one was inside. Remembering something important, I slid a white porcelain tile away underneath was a small key pad. I typed in the specific number and whoosh. A section of tile wall slid away and in it was a blurry dark portal away from camp.
I stepped into it and I was in a cozy household in the suburban area of Illinois outside of Chicago. A cuckoo clock started to buzz. The carpeted stairs were recently vacuumed and the linoleum tiles freshly sweeped. The hall I walked through had black and white pictures of many people at family barbecues and picnics. Past the hall, I stepped into a well carpeted dining room next to a freshly cleaned white tile kitchen and a freshly vacuumed living room with overstuffed couches and chairs with an extra soft carpet. I sat don at the oak dining room table next to a thin, deep wrinkled, white haired woman who was scrap booking as usual. Her face lit up when she noticed me there, and we embraced. Her white hair smelling of pomegranates. The sliding glass door to our left, let in a nice cool breeze. "Oh Michael you're growing up so fast." the old woman said. "I know, but you haven't changed a bit." I replied. She hadn't, looking over her, she had the same white curly hair, same round pink spectacles and still looked frail. There was a cheery ding. Her face lit up, "The cookies are done." She announced while getting up. "No no, I got it." I said while standing up and gently patting her shoulder. She expressed her thanks with a bright smile. I put on a nearby pink oven mitt and opened the oven. The smell of chocolate filled the kitchen. I placed the tray on a clean light brown counter. Using the moistness in the golden fluff, they each floated onto a cooling rack. I picked one up and took a bite out of a large clump of chocolate. I brought a plate of the still warm cookies to the table where she sat and kissed her forehead. Deuce, the dog brushed against my leg and i patted his yawning head. His golden body laid down next to her feet.
"I gotta go." i said solemnly.
"Okay.' she said understandingly. She gave me a kiss on my cheek. "Bye Michael." she gave me a smile that I returned. "Bye Grandma." I said while turning to the hallway and into the portal next to the cuckoo clock that kept on buzzing.
The white tiles of the boys washroom made me sigh. I finished the gooey cookie and left for my cabin.
