For Immediate Release: Wilmington, N.C. – August 20, 2009 – Southern Gothic
Productions Introduces First Intellectual Property: Southern Gothic Productions unveils the first episode of its web series Friendship Union Community Theater Friday, August 21, on the company’s website www.sogopro.com. The official launch time is set for 8 a.m. EST.
Southern Gothic Productions is a company co-owned by actress Hilarie Burton (who played Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill for six years), Kelly Tenney, and Nicholas Gray. The web series was penned and directed by Gray and filmed locally in Wilmington.
The backdrop for Friendship Union Community Theater is a community theater in rural Florida. The story revolves around Clarisse Birdsong, played by Rachael Sutton, who returns from New York to run the theater, after the death of her uncle Mel. The episode opens as Clarisse is hosting auditions for an upcoming theater production and hilarity ensues with the eccentric collection of acting hopefuls. Clarisse must also deal with her amorous stage manager, Walter, played by Taylor Kowalski. Burton makes an appearance at the end of the episode, playing a high school rival of Clarisse who is now the local theater critic.
The web series is the first creative effort of Southern Gothic Productions. The company self-funded the first episode of the web series, and plans to stream it on their website, before offering a downloadable option in the future.
Also in development for Southern Gothic Productions is a short film, a graphic novel and a feature film entitled Pedestrian.

When keith is showing Lucas how Brooke's life would've been if he would have been a more selfish person, brooke is seen at Peyton's head stone which dates that she died in March 1 of their senior year. However, wouldn't that only make Haley's pregnancy 3 months long? For some reason this bothers me. Also, the head stone shows that Peyton's birthdate is July 12 1988, making her 18 at the time of the shooting, but turning 19 that July. How many people do you know that turn 19 right after they graduate high school?
