what does a directioner mean to you

Being a Directioner, or a Selenator, Swifty, Belieber, Hedcase, etc., is just about genuinely caring about the band/artist and support them in everything they do. It's not about know every single thing about them, or going to their concerts, or going to every taping of their show, or having your room covered in pictures. It's just about loving them with your whole heart.

I think a Directioner doesn't have to be someone who was there from the start. I admit that I wasn't aware of the boys until last year. I think it just has to be someone who truly loves and supports them. Some people come up with unrealistic answers like "You need to know absolutely everything about One Direction to be a Directioner" or "You must have their posters all over your bedroom or you're not a true Directioner". The truth is, I think being a Directioner doesn't have to be materialistic, it has to come from the heart. So what if your room isn't plastered with 1D merchandise? Does that mean you love them less than anyone else? And all those supposedly "true Directioners" out there say that you can't feel hurt or sad whenever the boys get a girlfriend. The truth is, that's impossible. We (Directioners), love One Direction, every one of those boys means something special to us. Of course when they get a girlfriend we're going to feel a little heartbroken because it destroys a small part of our fantasies of being friends, dating or even marrying any one of the boys! Just because you feel that way doesn't mean you don't care. And it's completely fine to have a favourite, it's like a mom having kids: of course you love all of them but sometimes you're just going to prefer one over the others.
The thing is, here's my experience on being a Directioner:
No, I haven't been there from the start. No, I don't know everything about the boys, neither does any one of you for that fact. Yes, there are things I hope they would change (e.g. Zayn smoking), but I respect their choices if they choose to do so. Yes, occasionally I do have a favourite for a number of reasons.Yes, I do have fantasies about going out with any one of the boys, who doesn't? No, my room isn't covered in posters and I don't even have one piece of 1D merchandise for that fact. But I love One Direction. I am a Directioner. And personally, I don't think we should fight over who's a Directioner and who's not. I'm sure the boys would appreciate it if we were all Directioners in our own way. Individual but part of a family. And I know that through thick and thin, us Directioners will stick together and love and support these boys all the way.

i think being a directioner is all about learning all about them

I'm going to admit, I did watch One Direction when I saw them on X Factor, I liked their performances and they became famous, I heard their first single, I loved it but when someone asked me if I liked One Direction I always denied it and made up reasons why I didn't like them (don't hate me for that please, because I KNOW that I love one direction and I now know I shouldn't hide the fact I love them), but to tell you the truth it's only until recently I've admitted to my self, I LOVE ONE DIRECTION! I've had both of their albums, I even remember the moment I bought the first one <3 I was really happy. But, I believe that a directioner is someone who loves them (which I'm glad I've finally realised), there someone who loves them and supports them through anything. People say 'your only a directioner if you've been their since the beginning. You're only a directioner if you know there inside jokes etc etc' well I know they have lots of directioners who have been their since the beginning but there's also a lot of dedicated fans that havnt been their since the beginning, but have joined since then, it doesn't matter how long you've been a directioner, you love them! It doesn't matter if you joined a month ago, you still are and will be a directioner. People also say 'your a directionator if you've not always been their and are a new fan, your obviously fake' your, not, fake. Don't let those comments make you feel like your not a proper directioner, because there are so many ways to be a directioner and to show your love for the five lads. And you may not know every inside joke ( which they are really funny if you do want to know them). It's what you do to show your love, dedication and respect that makes you a directioner. I think being a true directioner is loving them for who they are on the inside, not just "oh yeah, one direction? They're hot". That isn't being a true directioner.

One Direction means alot to me i like them not love because that would mean that their like my family but their not because i know alot about them and i know all you ladies know alot about them to and they know nothing about us but if they came to me in person and said they wanna know me well they wouldent get any info because i would of been dead before they said anything and i lnow so would all you true directioners!! ✌✌✌✌♥♥♥♥
