Once Upon A Time Question

Do you think the idea of two people being True Loves tossed around too much by fans?

Don't get me wrong, fans can think and speculate as they like but I always felt that Snow and Charming's 'True Love' was what made them special. That someone finding actual True Love was so rare and beautiful it was something of particular note. Emma, being the product of True Love, was special and powerful because of it. On the show I think only Snow and Charming have found their real 'True Love'. I'm also on board with the idea that Daniel and Regina were True Loves as it would go quite far in explaining Regina's action post the incident in the stables. True Love is the equivalent of 'The One', as in the-only-person-in-the-world-they-will love-this-much-and-if-you-lose-them-you-will-never-be-the-same. Saying Gremma or Mad Swan or anything like that was True Love just seems to mean that either I or the other person has misunderstood what the show meant by True Love.

Edit: Sorry, the True Love pairings so far are: Snowing, Rumbelle, AuroraxPhilip, and (possibly) AbigailxFrederick

Of all the ships on the show the only ones that actually get the true love label are:
- Snowing (of course)
- AuroraxPhilip (other wise the kiss wouldn't have worked, I don't however have to like it :[ X )
- Rumbelle (the kiss in "skin deep" almost worked)

I don't buy DanielxGina as "True love", but that's just me.

Gah, I can't believe I forgot about those too. I guess I was just so focused on Snowing, they passed me by. I don't really accept it as True Love but I'd be okay with it if it was announced as canon, if that makes sense? It's just all the shipping and tossing around the label of True Love baffled me a little and I wondered if I had just misinterpreted what the show meant by True Love.

Yeah, all the others are just normal love as of now. at least as far as I'll concerned. Can you become someones true love or does it have to happen right off the bat?

Eh, I'm still trying to figure out the nuances to my opinion on True Love. So far I think that each person has a predestined soulmate. You may never meet that person and live a perfectly contented life with someone else and die happy. You can meet your soulmate and if you don't have time to bond then you will never know what they could have been and they will remain just another person you met once. But, once you get the chance to bond and fall in love you will fall hard and fast and there will be real magic in your love.

This is why I think True Love should be rare - the odds must be astronomical for you to meet and spend enough time with that one person out of all the others in the entire world.
