Once Upon A Time Question

Why do you think Charming thought the baby would be a boy?

In the pilot he seemed sure that the baby was a boy, even though Snow knew it was a girl. It was almost like she was keeping it from him, but I dont know why she would do that.

I think he was trying to get out of their end of the deal with Rumpelstiltskin. He asked for 'her' name, but I guess he thought if he said it was a boy then that would mean they wouldn't technically be breaking their deal.

I don't know. It just always looked like he was lying to Rumpel I don't think he thought Emma was going to be a boy.

I agree. He said "It's a boy" really fast and tried to make Snow leave. They obviously have someway of knowing the baby's gender in FTL because Cinderella and her prince also knew they were having a girl because they had the name Alexandra picked out already.

People tend to believe that their unborn child is one gender or the other. When my oldest sister was pregnant with her 2nd child, I was sure it was a girl, but it was a boy. It just happens.

And peopel, and in TV especially, men tend to think the baby is going to be a boy and women tend to think it is going to be girl.

Traditionally royalty needed an heir, and tended to hope for their first child at least to be a boy
