Near is awesome! His composure is flawless, his confidence unshakeable, and his grasp on reality firm. But there is ONE thing... I wish he'd have a little more emotion, maybe not infront of everyone, but still he should have a little so as to not be a lifeless, emotionless doll. But aside that, hes great :3

I agree. I kind of like the fact that he has no emotion though, because it gives him a kind of detached calmness. It's one of the reasons I like him so much.
Personally I think both L and Near are sociopaths and that's why they have so little emotion. I agree with what ^ said to an extent but I find Near's emotionlessness... annoying?
Well first I agree with all of you, not much emotion. And second, the toys: I'm OK with the card/dice towers and darts but the toys are a little over the top (conesidering the age). I think if he was shown earlier maybe that would have changed, and some emotions would have developed as well.

i agree....the dice, cards, and darts are ok.....its the little squeaky toys with the creepy faces that scare me....
His superiority complex for starters. He thinks he's so much better than everyone else.
Second he didn't handle the final scene as well as he should have. That was VERY annoying.
Third I hate his hair. I just hate it.
i wish he would show some emotion as well....hes the cutest little albino ever, but his straight face just dosent go with his looks.....his smile is funny, yet adorable at the same time....plus,hes pretty hot when hes aggrivated.....those are some emotions he can pull off......

Near's smile ain't that bad (just picture Light in your head and you'll se what I mean). But that is not enough emotion, they should be shown just slightly more
No not really. There is one thing tho, I think he's way too serious about everything. He barely shows any emotion, and I think it would have been nice if he would have. Also, some people are arguing that he shouldn't be playing with toy robots and stuff at his age. I disagree. It's ok to be a kid. It really doesn't matter the age, it kinda just makes him more adorable :P
