Offended is the wrong word. I disagreed with Gibbs' remark that the Marine and the Reverend's God is the same. As a Christian, I believe the characteristics and the commands of each are fundamentally different. That being said, that was just one line and I know that "getting offended" isn't going to solve anything. I recognize that though that may be indicative of the view of a writer or producer, in the end it is a line in a script uttered by a character. Everybody has different beliefs; to get offended by everyone else's is going to make you crazy. That being said, the whole episode did not offend me. There are supposed "Christians" who view Muslims with hatred; however, many do not share that view and many Christians, me included, would doubt the sincerity of someone who views another person with such hatred. The characters in this show represented a few reactions.

Sorry for the long answer, I just wanted to explain my reaction and how others might be offended. In the end, however, as long as viewers still have the intelligence to recognize that few loving families would try to ruin or end the life of a family member because of such disagreements, it is just a show.

Come on, what's the big deal over one line? It's a tv show. You believe what you believe and everyone believes different things. There's no way to make absolutely everyone happy. They are characters and actors in a fake tv show (which I am not putting down because it is the best show out there, but when it comes down to the bones, it is a tv show). So stop getting so fussy over it. Take it with a grain of salt like you have to do with most everything that's on tv, in literature, in magazines, in songs, in life.
