who do you think has a sadder backgound (sasuke or naruto)

Its a pretty close contest between the two. But, in my opinion; I personally think Naruto. Sasuke had everything torn from him, with his clan being murdered by his brother who was forced to. But Naruto never had the chance to have a family, he was shut out by most of the villagers of Konoha. And having the 9-tailed- demon fox in him, wasn't the easiest thing to deal with. Other people may have a different opinion. But that's my personal viewpoint. So please don't hate on me for it...

They both have sad backgrounds but I think Naruto's is sadder. He never got to meet his parents and the town basically hated him for the first years of his life.

Both are really sad but I think Sasuke's was sadder. Think about it. His loving brother turns evil and kills everybody including his parents. Then he says Sasuke has to like kill him for revenge. Talk about issues.

They are both had a bad past but I think that Sasuke has had harder as he had his family then lost them. His own brother betreyed him. Please ignore my bad spelling! :D

I think Naruto because while Sasuke lost his entire clan and his brother turned evil he still had people who wanted to be around him but he was to emo to accept it while Naruto never had anyone, everyone hated him and never had friends so I say Naruto

Naruto

Naruto. Sasuke was actually able to enjoy having a family and has memories of them to look back at, but maybe that just makes it even more painful. Naruto never knew what having a family was like, and he was ostracized by the entire village except for the Third Hokage and Teuchi, and later on Iruka and so on. Sasuke on the other hand was already being praised by everyone but only thought of the past and hatred and revenge.

I think Naruto. Sasuke had his family at the start, plus he was recognized as part of a genius family. Though, he had the pain of his older brother becoming a "monster" for killing the family, and he was consumed with hatred and revenge for him. Yet, that revenge part was mostly by choice, he could of stopped, as Kakashi told him revenge is almost never a good idea. Naruto didn't get to know his parents, he has a monster inside of him (which he can't always control), and the village used to think of him as that monster. Naruto had to go much farther to get recognized and be loved by everyone. Love, I think, is a very important human need. His story breaks my heart far more than Sasuke's ever would. Kakashi also had a really sad background.

Naruto. Sasuke had a very sad past, yes, but he was loved. It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Naruto was all alone right from the very beginning. For years, he had NO ONE to turn to, no one to comfort him, no one to talk to, to share his emotions with... the loneliness must have been almost unbearable. Everybody hated him and he didn't even know why. Sasuke had a father and his mother and brother both loved him. Even after the Uchiha were wiped out, all his classmates still admired him. The only reason he didn't have friends was because he chose not to. He wasn't hated. He wasn't kicked out of an orphanage and forced to bring himself up from very early on. There were no mask salesmen treating HIM like a piece of crap.

Poor Naruto...

Though, to be honest, I think Gaara had the worst past. His was like a mixture of Naruto's, Sasuke's and Kabuto's, really... though, of course, it resembled Naruto's the most.
