Naruto Question

What happens to the nine-tails when Naruto dies?

When Naruto dies, what happens to the nine tails? Does it die along with it, is it released back into the world or what?

Oh so like if he dies the nine-tails will uses his body as his own... Naruto's soul will be gone but his body will still be there with the fox inside? Is that right

I expect it would die because when Naruto fought Kabuto in part 1, he nearly died and the fox couldn't do anything and he sounded surprised and confused about this. I also think only the Juubi has enough power for him to re-emerge from his dead host.
