Shouldn't Naruto be a Jonin????

Ok, I know Naruto's only a genin, but that's only because while everyone else was taking the chunin exam...He was training with one of the LEGENDARY SANNIN(Jiraiya). However, everyone still makes fun of him being a genin? He didn't fail or anything, he was away training, so who could make fun? On top of that, Naruto has been in many dangerous fights like many other ninja, but there is one fight in particular that should have made him an automatic Jonin. His fight with Pain. The leader of the Akatsuki was so powerful he destroyed the village barely using any of his power. Plus, taking out most of the ninja, including a majority of the jonin!!!! I know the big argument is that naruto wouldn't have been able to beat Pein without the help of the nine tails, it's true. But what is also true is, no Jonin could take out even one of the Pain's, naruto took out three before turning unleashing the nine tails. So before the Bijuu had let out its power Naruto had already greatly surpassed his superiors. Even if he was supposed to wait for the next chunin exam, the elders would have to ask, "what genin would even last in there? WHAT JONIN WOULD EVEN LAST IN THERE AGAINST HIM???" So, in conclusion the exam would be a waste of time for him, and would only make sense to let his battle against Pain count as his exam....Who agrees?
