Ok, so before I begin with this, let me just be clear. This is not a hate-ish article of any kind, like my last one was. If anything, this is purely academic (whlie at the same time opinionated), with one college class of critical thinking under my belt.
There's been a change in today's society, a rather interesting one at that. I've seen countless stories and news articles about individuals at odds with one another. Arguments, discussions, disagreements.
And today, on the wall, Canada24 expressed his discomfort at having the unpopular opinion, because "people hate him because of it."
While I can understand why you would feel that you're hated for having such opinions, I'm going to tell you something. Tell you to feel something else.
I want you to feel proud.
Never be ashamed to have an unpopular opinion. Don't be afraid to be that one guy that says "I disagree with this!"
Be proud. Hell, if you have it, then flaunt it, and I'm going to tell you why.
The human race has only gotten to this point in ALL DIFFERENT kinds of growth because people disagree with each other.
However, with the ability to have an unpopular opinion should come with an ability to discuss and (at least attempt to) understand other opinions. Have discussion, try to see where the other opinions are coming from, don't see your opinion as the only opinion.
I'm not saying you're at fault for this, but OH MY GOD I could go on so many rants on how other people are, and I don't want anyone to turn into that.
(a number of those rants would be mainly about the current feminist movement, which is definitely a story for another time)
Throughout my one semester I completed at college, I learned a lot about the world of critical thinking. It's the ability to discuss, dissent, and sometimes accept the opinions of yourself and others.
It's the ability to break down YOUR OWN opinion, see its flaws, and to do so for others and come to a compromise.
If there's one piece of advice I can give anyone, it's to not be afraid to have an unpopular opinion. SHARE that opinion with others.
Discuss it, dissect it, accept it, reject it, you can do it all!
The only thing in your way is your ability to share and accept.

Down at Sugercubes.
The tensions started rising.
Both teams were certain they were gonna win the money.
Derpy: I still don't like any of this. The whole idea seems kinda cruel.
BonBon: *rudely* No one asked you.
Saten: *angrily* Hey! Be nice to her, or I'll hurt you.
BonBon: I'm not scared of you. Your just alcoholic with childhood mother issues, and no father.
Saten: Yeah, well.. Your a bit-
Pinkie: Everyone please calm down.. What's a cake, without the icing.
Saten: what is that suppose to mean?
Pinkie: I don't know.. But it sure felt good saying it.
Saten: You know.. Maybe you and I could be the next to attempt this kind of challenge.
AppleJack: Yea-No..
