Umm... The older British punk is amazing (the Clash, the Cure, Sex Pistols, etc.), but with more modern bands and pop music, it's the same as American bands. Some of them are great (Muse!) but some of them suck (JLS).

But, let's be honest, The killers wouldn't be the same without British music. I didn't even know they were American when Mr. Brightside came out :D

I like some bands like I love You Me At Six and obviously the classic bands like The Beatles but pop trash like JLS, Cheryl Cole and Pixie Lott I absolutely can't stand :/
