Music Question

Why do bands create self-titled albums?

I don't mean for their debut albums, because that I understand, but for later albums. Like Mayday Parade's third is going to be self-titled, and there's also Apocalyptica's fifth album, Blink's fifth, 3 Doors Down's fourth... Why?

No, that's not it. Blink's coming out with a new album later this year.

Some do it because they can’t think of anything better.

In most cases, when a self-titled album is also a debut album, the artist’s intention is for their name to be mentioned more often; it also creates a firmer link between the artist and the music.

Or it could just be a statement – have you ever heard the Descartes quote: "I think, therefore I am"?

Sorry if this isn't up to snuff, I know I could do better.
