Obviously thinking only strictly of characters I feel the need to stand up for (those who have done something wrong and I know it but still love them or someone unpopular in the fandom), my vote goes to Mark Hoffman from the Saw series. He's still loved, but made some unpopular choices within the fandom and even killed someone I liked but I guess I don't really care ultimately.
