Movies Question

Am I the only who thinks the Oscars are predictable and its unfair for Pixar to win year after year.

There are other animated features...that deserve the highest recognition. Take this year for example. How To Train Your Dragon or Tangled equally deserve Oscars too. But year after year Pixar wins. Dont get me wrong I like Pixar movies but I grew up with traditional animation. So I enjoy that more. Besides Disney seems a little sexist these days with shelving " Newt" being directed by a female director, changing " Rapunzel" to Tangled?? and shelving again " the Snow Queen?" When money is concerned they should remember that little boys don't rule this world. And Using " Princess and the Frog" is a poor cop out. Off the Disney topic but If Lord of the Rings can win Oscars, fantasy films can win Oscars. Harry Potter should be recognized by the Academy as well.

I agree it is not fair. Sure Toy Story 3 deserves to win too but Tangled is more of a masterpiece because the music is brilliant, the story is classy, the characters are hilarious, the whole film is so Oscar worthy. (Spoiler) Sure it had a few simliarites from other Disney movies so what but personally that film was brillaint.

About 3 years ago I was rooting for Enchanted to win for Best Song and guess what it didn’t win they gave it to stupid Once with that crap song Falling Slowly grrr. I bet you anything that Tangled will lose against Burlesque if that happens I will never watch the Oscars ever again.

I honestly think Pixar deserves it every year. Toy Story 3 was unbelievably good film. Every Pixar movie without fail has fantastic characters, amazingly creative and ORIGINAL plots, a great script and sense of humour. In the Oscar books that equals a really good movie and I'm glad Pixar is getting the recognition. I loved how classic Tangled was, and it had great characters and script as well but it's honestly really hard to beat Pixar.

I do agree Harry Potter should be nominated more often than it is though.

I actually don't think it's unfair, Disney films are good sure, but they usually follow a very similar storyline, like "Princess And The Frog", "Tangled" even "Shrek", they just revolve around a girl, usually a princess and a guy, usually someone you would never expect and they end up falling in love....

Pixar however does animation to a whole different level, I mean when I saw Toy Story back when I was 8, I was mesmerized, and Aladdin was the first movie I ever saw and it didn't have the same effect as Toy Story did.

Pixar movies have the most original stories ever, I mean "A Bug's Life", "Monsters Inc", "The Incredibles" and "Cars" even "Wall-E" has a twist on an ordinary love story. With Pixar, you will never know what they will do next and that unpredictable nature plus their outstanding graphics in animation, means they deserve Oscars, I mean they haven't made a bad movie yet, so the consistency is there as well.
