Why didn't they mention Madge?

Ok so if you read the book you know that Madge gave Katniss the Mockingjay pin, but in the movie it was shown like Katniss bought the pin in the hob and gave it to Prim to "keep her safe" and then Prim gave it back to her.. So why wasnt Madge mentioned? Will they mention her later or her aunt, because it was her pin? Thanks for the answers :-)

Even though Madge was cut out of the movie, I'm glad the way they changed it onscreen. Not glad that Madge didn't give it to her, but it was also a special moment between the two sisters with the pin.

I think it would be odd to mention Madge, since she originally gave the pin. But maybe they could just casually say that before the Hob got it, the mockingjay pin originally belonged to a girl in District 12 named Madge, and then go on to say she's the Mayor's daughter?
