Although I haven't read paradox, I do know for a fact that being gay means that you are emotionally/sexually attracted to males EXCLUSIVELY and I doubt that it was stated that Akise is such. Who knows, maybe he's bisexual or pansexual? All we know is that he loves Yukiteru but that alone isn't enough to claim that he's gay.
