Well, if u watch the backstage action on the S. 1 d.v.ds, it tells u that Gaius is supposed to be Merlins uncle or something like that!

I think that, that was the orgiganal plan but i think they have changed it to Gaius being a friend og Huniths!

I dont think we will ever find out about his dad coz i was watching an interveiw a while ago and the producer said something about not wanting to go into that. (As in the legend Merlins dad was the demon)!

I think that they will not go into that....I think it is implied that maybe Merlin knew what happened to his dad but never really discusses it...

We found out alright. Interesting concept and was not expecting it before hand.
