“Mummy. Daddy.” Little Atara, now 5 years old, said running up to her mother and father. “Yes, Atara.” The mother said as the little girl climbed up on her father’s lap. “Can you tell me a story before I go to sleep?” The little girl asked. “Certainly. Go get your pajamas on and get ready for bed.” Her father said and the little girl ran as fast as her little feet would go up the stairs. She smiled as she got into her nightgown and smiled as she brushed her teeth. When she heard her mother and father coming up she hopped in to her bed and under the sheets. “Ready for your story, Atara?” Her father asked as he pulled a chair up to her bed. “Oh yes!” Atara said her eyes lighting up. Her mother sat on the bed and her father in the chair next to her.
“Once apon a time. In a far away land, there were these two children. A boy and a girl. They were in pre kindergarten and it was the first day…” The mother trailed off:
“Hi there. I’m Mrs. Gannio. You must be Sarah.” A tall women said as she approached the timid little girl. The little girl nodded and hid behind her aunt. “Well, you can go over there and play with the other kids. I promise you’ll have so much fun.” Mrs. Gannio said pointing to the classroom where kids were running around. “Go.” Her aunt reassured Sarah, pushing her towards the classroom. The girl walked in the classroom and looked around. Noone seemed like they wanted to play. That’s when she spotted the painting easle. She loved to paint! After looking around and seeing that noone was already there she catiously approached the easle. As she dipped her brush into some water and began painting scribbles she noticed a boy her age and just as shy as her. He approach the easle too.
“Hi.” The boy said as he folded his hands and moved his feet nervously. “Hi.” Sarah blushed and played mindlessly with her dress. “Can I paint?” The boy asked. Sarah jerked her head up and looked at him. “No!” She pouted and returned to the easle. “Why not?” He asked a little less shy and more pissed. “Cuz!” She said stubbornly. “But. There’s two brushes.” He pointed out. “…yeah. So?” Sarah said now realizing she made a fool of herself. “Please.” The boy said again. “Fine…but stay on your side.” Sarah said painting a very unstraight line down the middle. The boy started painting and every now-and-then looked over at the girl as did she. “I’m Jonathan.” He said still painting. “I’m Sarah.” She said and pretended to be mad but secretley smiled.
“…and that was the beginning to a beautiful friendship.” Atara’s mother said stroking the girl’s hair. “That’s it?” Atara whinned. “Maybe tomorrow we’ll continue the story. For now go to sleep.” Her father said kissing her on the forehead. “Good night sweetie.” Her mother also kissed her on the forehead. The couple turned off the light and closed the door to their little girl’s room.
A little short and sorta boring but I had fun writing it. Tell me if I should continue:)))
