In honour of Valentine's Day, Ellen asked a few kids what love meant to them. The following are their answers.
“Love is when a friend likes you and then he follows you. They could take a date.”

“I think love is a special thing that you want to be with the whole time. I also think it means that you are nice and kind.”
Isabelle - age 7, grade 2

“Love means to me I care about you. There are many types of love. Love means to me a heart is open for me. It also means romance. Also my dog and me are a good couple.”
Max - age 7, grade 1

“To express what love means to me I’m going to tell you to go see this:
Love means a heart bursting, hiding, ridding in the wind.
Daffodils give specs of yellow down to me.
Love means to cling upon something with all your heart.
The things I love: my mom, my dad.
When I love, my heart feels glad.
It gives me strength and warmth.
That’s what love means to me.”
Jocelyn - age 7, grade 2

“What love means to me is candy. I really like candy. My favouritest kind of love is M&Ms. I want candy for Valentine’s Day. What love means to me is also Valentine’s Day.”
Allan - age 7, grade 2

“To me love means when you like something so much it makes it special to you. For example, let’s say I love my necklace. I think it’s special because I got it when I was born. That’s what I think love means to me.
Sophia, age 7, grade 2
